Biloela Emergency Accommodation was established in 1991
and the unincorporated body was first auspiced by a Careforce sub-committee until the organisation became an incorporated association on 21 July 1993.
The Biloela Emergency Accommodation Association Inc changed its name to the Banana Shire Emergency Accommodation and Support Centre Inc. (BSEASC Inc.) in 2003 and then added the trading name…
Banana Shire Support Centre (BSSC) in 2005.
BSEASC Inc. is a Registered Provider under the State Housing Act 2003 and a provider of services through funding from the Department of Housing and Public Works and Department of Communities.
There is also the No Interest Loans Programme (NILS) accessed through the Good Shepherd Microfinance and the National Australia Bank.
The Banana Shire Support Centre is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information which we handle. Personal information is information which directly or indirectly identifies a person. We collect and handle a range of personal information for the purposes of providing services or to carry out any statutory functions. We also collect some personal information for planning, funding, monitoring and evaluating our services and functions, but where practicable we remove identifying details from information used for these purposes.
Our Responsibilities
In accordance with our responsibilities, the services and functions which we provide relate primarily to the areas of individual support. In particular they include - family support, housing and homelessness support.
We are bound by legislation contained in the Information Privacy Act 2009 QLD.
We have adopted the following privacy principles as minimum standards in relation to handling personal information. In broad terms this means that we -

Meissner
President
Marion has been President from 2016 after participating as an association member and then as Secretary and Treasurer over 12 years of membership. She has lived in Biloela since 1966, having married Ron Meissner in 1968. As a retired high school teacher she has a deep interest in social justice and community involvement. Reading and sewing are among her preferred pastimes.
Vice President
Pam has been a part of the Biloela community since 1988. She came initially to teach English, French and Social Sciences at Biloela State High School, before moving on to the health sector and then to co-ordinate services and programmes at Banana Shire Community Resource Centre. She views her roles in a range of community groups as a way of contributing to the local community and
Manager
Mark Warnick has been with us Since October 2010 and has been living
in Biloela since 1998.
Mark has a background in administration management and a genuine empathy with those who are in need of help. Golf is an important recreational enjoyment and he has been Secretary of the Bilo Club for a number of years. We see his leadership of the BSEASC team as being invaluable.
Dan McMillan
Treasurer
Dan grew up in Biloela, He gained a Bachelor of Economics in Brisbane, before returning to Biloela at the end of 2006, when he was provided an opportunity with the former Powers Financial Services, for a career in Financial Planning and Finance Broking. He now specialises in Finance Broking, with business partner, Marty Pentecost, under the name of Grow Agribusiness & Financ
Cathie Dendle
Secretary
Cathie has lived in Biloela since 2011. She is a teacher in a local state school. Cathie has been involved in BSSC since the end of 2017 and she joined the board at the end of 2018. Cathie loves living in Biloela and is pleased to be involved with BSSC – an organisation that provides such great support to our community. Cathie’s hobbies include reading and gardening.
